Race Cancellation Policy

Durango Derby is permitted by the City of Durango and the Bureau of Land Management, and the decision to cancel the event due to inclement weather (if applicable) will be made the morning of the event not only by the race directors, but also by public lands officials. In the event of a cancellation due to weather, Durango Derby is protected by BikeReg and their Event Cancellation Insurance.

This program protects event participants against unexpected cancellations. If there is a qualifying event, such as inclement weather, an unsafe venue, power failure, or a natural disaster, participants are paid back 100% of their entry fee through the BikeReg platform.

If the race is cancelled due to weather, we recommend you go catch a movie, grab some food, or something other than using the trails. We highly value our trails and we do not want to ruin them for other users, so please respect the cancellation and wait to get back out until the trails are dry.
